FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman who was struck by a vehicle Wednesday Oct. 9, in Lauderdale Lakes.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the northbound right thru lane of 4800 N. State Road 7. An adult female attempted to cross, from west to east, mid-block and was struck by a 2009 white Chevrolet Malibu heading northbound in the right thru lane.
Investigators determined the victim was not in a designated pedestrian crosswalk when she attempted to cross the road. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue pronounced the woman deceased on the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. At this time the victims names was withheld pending notification to the victims family who have not yet been identified.
