Broward Homicide Detectives Investigating Suspicious Death of Man and Woman Found Dead Behind Firestone in North Lauderdale

UPDATE: 11/6/2015: Yesterday, November 5, 2019 police released the names of the victims. The identities of the deceased are as follows:  Victim 1, Andre Jackson, 19 and Victim 2, Zentavious Williams, 24.

NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating the deaths of two people found behind a business in North Lauderdale Monday morning.  

According to police, at approximately 6:55 a.m. Nov. 4, a Broward deputy was routinely patrolling a plaza near 1387 S. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale when he noticed two people, a man and women, who appeared to be unconscious on a sidewalk behind Firestone. North Lauderdale Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced both victims dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives suspect foul play and are investigating the case as a homicide. The identity of both victims is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. 

WPLG Local 10 News spoke with a man who said he recognized the couple as two homeless people who caused no trouble and were generally welcomed throughout the neighborhood wherever they went.
