FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a car crash that left a Lauderdale Lakes woman dead early Sunday morning.
According to police, around 3:40 a.m. Dec. 1, Bob LaFrance was traveling northbound in the center thru lane on the 4200 block of North State Road 7 in Lauderdale Lakes. A black Mercedes-Benz traveling southbound on North State Road 7, intending to turn east into a nearby shopping plaza but was struck by LaFrance’s vehicle.
LaFrance lost control of the white Ford Mustang, exited the roadway and struck a tree before coming to a stop. The Mercedes-Benz rolled over and landed upside down as a result of the impact.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue extracted the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, later identified as Tammy McNealy-White of Lauderdale Lakes, from the car and transported her to Broward Health Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. LaFrance was transported to Broward Health North in critical condition.
The traffic homicide investigation is ongoing.
