Two Teens Charged In Homicide at Shopping Center in Lake Park

LAKE PARK, FL – On January 22, 2020 at approximately 12:00 pm Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office Deputies responded to a shooting in the 1500 block of Prosperity Farms Road. Upon arrival the deputies located a male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim, identified by police as Marcas Johnson, 19, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division and Crime Scene Investigators investigated and determined that two suspects where involved and on January 30, 2020, arrested Divien Colson, 18, and charged him with 1st Degree Murder with a Firearm, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle. On February 3, 2020, a second suspect, Broadus Peterkine Jr., 19, was arrested for 1st Degree Murder with a Firearm, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle. 

According to the Palm Beach Post, the shooting was the result of a dispute over a stolen dirt bike.
