WASHINGTON, D.C. – Dr. Ben Carson, retired brain surgeon and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during the Trump Administration, recently was a guest on Real America’s Voice, where he discussed the fallout from the Supreme Court’s potential revocation of the landmark 1973 Roe V. Wade decision protecting abortion rights with hosts Ed Henry and Karyn Turk.

Carson, who was asked about his opinion of protests by abortion rights advocates that have taken place outside of conservative Supreme Court justices’ homes, said that “intimidation” should not be a part of the concept of a peaceful protest and called upon law enforcement to step in.

“I’m disappointed that the Justice Department isn’t being a little more forceful,” he said. “We cannot have intimidation of our Supreme Court justices and just sit by and look and say, ‘eh, they have the right to protest peacefully.’ You don’t have a right to intimidate a judge or a jury.”

However, Carson was quick to point out that the protesting currently taking place will be nothing compared if the Supreme Court does indeed overturn Roe V. Wade, which will surely spark massive civil unrest across the country.

“Can you imagine what’s going to happen after the ruling comes down, assuming that it does in fact come down not in the favor of the left?” he said. “This is going to be a walk in the park compared to what will happen then, so we need to send a message right now that this kind of foolishness will not be tolerated.”

Carson gave his own personal views on the issue, essentially equating abortion with murder but also stressing that there are many sides to the situation and that open discussions are needed to arrive at a solution.

“It would be nice to inject some logic into the whole abortion issue…for instance, why is it that if someone murders of pregnant woman they get two counts of murder, but you can kill a baby and no problem?” he asked. “Yeah, does that make any sense? Of course it doesn’t. There’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t make sense. This is something we need to sit down and have a discussion about, both sides, rather than getting on our respective corners and throw rocks at each other. Let’s actually use the brains that God gave us, recognizing that we have a diverse society. Let’s come up with things that actually make sense.”
