SOMERSET, MA – President Joe Biden was in Massachusetts Wednesday to speak about climate change and outline executive action his administration intends to take in the coming days and weeks.

Biden visited the former coal-fired Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, which is shifting to offshore windmill-generated energy.

While speaking under the beating sun, potentially mistakenly, he also shocked listeners by revealing that, as he said, ‘like many others from his home of Delaware,’ he suffers from cancer.

“That’s why I and so damn many other people I grew up with have cancer and why for the longest time, Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation,” Biden said.

Biden was speaking about the negative health effects of emissions from oil refineries near his childhood home in Delaware.

According to the New York Post, the White House is now pointing to a common skin cancer that he had years ago, however, also notes that it is “unclear why Biden chose to use a present verb tense to describe his experience with cancer.”
