Jessa Duggar Seewald Announces Pregnancy with Fifth Child After Suffering Loss in 2022

Reality TV star Jessa Duggar Seewald announced on Saturday that she is expecting her fifth child with husband Ben Seewald. This news comes after the couple suffered a miscarriage earlier this year, with Jessa calling their newest addition a “rainbow baby.”

In an Instagram story and YouTube video shared on September 10th, the 30-year-old mother revealed that she and Ben recently discovered they are pregnant again after their loss in 2022. “After a heartbreaking loss of our baby last year, just this past week we found out some wonderful news that our rainbow baby is on the way, and we could not be more excited,” Jessa said in her clip.

Jessa and Ben, who have been married since 2014, already share four children – sons Spurgeon, 7, and Henry, 6, and daughters Ivy, 4, and Fern, 2. In her video, Jessa showed footage from a romantic getaway with her husband, including a positive pregnancy test. She wrote in the caption “Ben and I were able to take our first real getaway without the kids and it was so relaxing and refreshing to have this time together.”

The news comes just days before Jessa’s older sister Jill Duggar is set to release a tell-all memoir titled “Counting the Costs” on September 13th. According to the book’s description, Jill will share “the unedited truth about the Duggars, the traditional Christian family that captivated the nation” on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting, and reveal “the secrets, manipulation, and intimidation behind the show.”
