Israeli Troops Engage Iranian-Backed Terror Groups in Face of Expanding Hamas Conflict

653

Israeli troops and Iranian-backed terror groups have raised concerns about the potential expansion of the war with Hamas across the region.

Israeli forces are currently in a standoff with Hezbollah, an Iranian-backed militia based in Lebanon.

Israeli troops have been positioned along the northern border with Lebanon, just yards away from where Hezbollah rocket teams engage in daily skirmishes.

Unlike Hamas, Hezbollah has a well-equipped and well-trained army, making them a formidable adversary.

Israeli commanders have expressed concerns that the conflict with Hezbollah could be much more significant and protracted than the war in Gaza.

“This is where the real war will be. The war in Gaza is nothing compared to what could happen here. This will be different and go on much longer.” – Israeli Commander.

Hezbollah fighters use border villages as cover to launch rockets into Israeli territory.

The city of Kiryat Shmona, which overlooks these border villages, has been a target for Hezbollah’s rocket attacks.

Israeli troops and Iranian-backed terror groups have raised concerns about the potential expansion of the war with Hamas across the region.

Despite being evacuated, the town was hit by six rockets just 48 hours after an Israeli commander visited the area.

Israeli troops have responded to these attacks by targeting Hezbollah rocket units

In one instance, they successfully destroyed a team that had shelled their base multiple times.

The use of drones and jets has been crucial in countering Hezbollah’s activities.

Iran, a key supporter of Hezbollah, has further exacerbated tensions in the region.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi condemned Israel’s attack on Gaza and warned that it had crossed “red lines.”

This statement has raised concerns that the conflict could escalate even further, potentially drawing other actors into the fray.

“Israel’s attack on Gaza crossed the red lines and may force everyone to take action.” – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

While dealing with the threat from Hezbollah, Israel has also been engaged in a relentless bombing campaign against Hamas targets in Gaza.

In 24 hours, Israeli forces targeted 450 Hamas sites.

These strikes have been carried out by fighter jets and have intensified as more ground troops enter the Strip.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued warnings to the residents of Gaza City, declaring the area a battlefield.

Leaflets were dropped, urging civilians to seek shelter in southern Gaza, as the northern regions were deemed unsafe.

Despite these warnings, hundreds of thousands of civilians are believed to have remained in the city.
