Kentucky authorities arrested Brittany Slaughter, 24, and her boyfriend, Adam Hayes, 34, following a troubling revelation linked to the disappearance of 4-year-old Chloe Darnell.

The authorities, who believe they’ve found the child’s body, have charged the pair with murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence

This distressing case took a puzzling turn when it was revealed that although young Chloe had not been seen since September, her absence went unreported until recently, according to a press release from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department. Brittany Slaughter, who had custody of the girl, now finds herself in custody facing grave accusations alongside her boyfriend, Adam Hayes.

Specific information about the state of Darnell’s body upon being found has not been revealed or made public at this time.

However, the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department has confirmed that the child’s body has been forwarded to the state medical examiner’s office in Frankfort for an autopsy and official identification.
