Jevon Hirst, Harvey Owen, Wilf Henderson, and Hugo Morris, ages 16 to 18, embarked on a camping trip to Snowdonia, planning to revel in a night under the stars. 

The delightful expedition concluded with an unexpected catastrophe that abruptly terminated the happiness experienced during the journey.

The teenagers, hailing from Shrewsbury, set off on their escapade in a silver Ford Fiesta. Concern arose when the group failed to return home as expected, prompting families to raise the alarm. 

A tipoff from a member of the public led the authorities to a chilling discovery a car overturned and partially submerged in water, situated miles away from where they were last seen in Porthmadog.

Investigation Continues into Fatal North Wales Accident

North Wales police superintendent Owain Llewellyn conveyed the tragic news, expressing condolences to the families and acknowledging the extensive search efforts that sadly culminated in a devastating outcome. 

The teenagers had left for Harlech on Saturday with the intention of camping in Snowdonia on Sunday, but the most terrible way of fate intervened. Heartbreaking condolences were received for Wilf Henderson, one of the young people killed in the collision. 

His girlfriend, Maddi, posted a poignant tribute on Instagram, expressing immeasurable grief at the loss of her beloved. Maddi’s mother, Lisa Corfield, echoed sentiments of sorrow, highlighting Wilf’s kindness and love.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident on the A4085 at Garreg near Tremadog. The road’s steep and narrow nature, coupled with adverse weather conditions, likely contributed to the fatal crash. 

As the community grapples with shock and sadness, local leaders and officials extend their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families, acknowledging the profound impact of this tragic loss on the entire community.
