His message of gratitude for the country was intertwined with sharp criticisms aimed at perceived adversaries, stirring controversy and contrasting sharply with Biden’s tone of unity.

However, the parade faced disruptions as police arrested demonstrators attempting to block the procession, chanting for the liberation of Palestine and environmental concerns. 

Their act aimed to draw attention to urgent global issues but led to arrests, creating a juxtaposition between celebratory moments and socio-political activism.
