Idaho Tragic Discovery: Deceased Infant Found in Woods Near Father Sought in Spousal Murder
The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office in Idaho reported a tragic incident where they found the deceased body of 10-month-old Zeke Gregory Best in a wooded area.
Meanwhile, his father, Jeremy Albert Best, who was suspected of killing the baby’s mother, was discovered nearby, naked, and in a disturbed state.
The grim discovery came after a group of hunters alerted deputies about a naked man making peculiar statements while nestled in a sleeping bag by the roadside east of Idaho Falls.
The naked individual was identified as 48-year-old Jeremy Albert Best, wanted in connection to the killing of his 38-year-old wife, Kali Jean Randall, on Thursday night in Victor, Idaho.
Randall was tragically discovered deceased inside their home following a disturbance, prompting Best to flee with their infant son, leading to an Amber Alert being issued.
Idaho authorities requested assistance from the public and released information on Best’s car, a black 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe with Idaho license plates, fearing that he might be armed.
Idaho Mystery Surrounding the Infant’s Death
The unsettling series of events took an even more distressing turn when it was revealed that a day before the alleged murder and abduction, Best was sighted at a store in Bonneville County walking around without clothes.
He was later transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for assessment but was discharged the following afternoon. In a chilling twist, Best’s SUV was found adjacent to the spot where little Zeke’s body was discovered.
However, information regarding the reason behind the baby’s death was not revealed or made public.
Jeremy Albert Best was apprehended and treated before being booked into Bonneville County Jail, where he is set to remain pending his arraignment.
Multiple law enforcement agencies, including detectives from Bonneville County and Idaho State Police, as well as support from the FBI, are collaborating in the ongoing investigation into this tragic and deeply disturbing sequence of events.
