Three homeless males were among the four fatalities from a series of unfortunate shootings in Los Angeles that were made public following the arrest of 33-year-old Jerrid Joseph Powell.

Charged with four counts of murder, Powell faces a litany of serious charges, including robbery and being a felon with a firearm.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office revealed this chilling news, citing Powell’s connection to the fatal shootings of three homeless individuals and his involvement in a separate robbery.

The charges include special circumstances of multiple murders, indicating the severity of the alleged crimes.

During Powell’s appearance in court, his attorney, Deputy Public Defender Carlos Bido, refrained from entering a plea. Powell’s arraignment has been postponed to January 8, leaving the case hanging in the balance.

The Public Defender’s Office emphasized its commitment to ensuring a robust defense for Powell, highlighting the cornerstone principle of presumed innocence until proven guilty in the criminal justice system. Nevertheless, if convicted, Powell faces a potential lifetime behind bars without the chance of parole.
