A harrowing series of events has unfolded in Washington state, shedding light on the chilling modus operandi of a man, Richard Bradley Jr., charged in multiple murder cases.
Prosecutors have revealed a disturbing pattern behind these sad events in Washington, DC, and Bradley, who is already on trial for the May 2021 murder of Brandi Blake, is now facing additional charges related to three more homicides.
The latest charges against Bradley involve the shooting deaths of a father and his adult son in March 2021, along with the 2019 death of Emilio Maturin, whose remains were discovered close to Brandi Blake’s burial site in Auburn, Washington.
According to Senior Deputy Prosecutor Thomas O’Ban II, Bradley allegedly employed a chillingly similar tactic in each case, luring victims under the guise of seeking their assistance in unearthing stolen gold.
This modus operandi unfolded tragically as he led the victims to wooded areas, where they met their untimely demise. The prosecution alleges Bradley then proceeded to steal their vehicles and belongings after committing the heinous acts.
Bradley’s Escalating Charges in Washington’s Legal Process
Emilio Maturin’s disappearance in July 2019 took a sinister turn when his girlfriend disclosed that Bradley had enticed Maturin into assisting with a supposed gold-digging venture.
Despite initial skepticism, Maturin, known for carrying substantial sums of cash, reportedly agreed to accompany Bradley. Tragically, Maturin never returned, and his girlfriend’s attempts to locate him at Game Farm Park led only to the discovery of his abandoned BMW.
The deaths of Michael Goeman and his son Vance Lakey in March 2021 raised suspicions, especially considering Goeman’s recent inheritance. Bradley, initially a person of interest, faced charges of arson related to the burning of the impounded SUV belonging to the deceased duo.
Recent developments have now seen Bradley charged with two counts of second-degree murder in their deaths.
