Ira Cronin, spokesperson for the Colorado Springs Police Department, clarified in a news conference that the altercation started as a “bit of a fist fight” before escalating into a shooting incident.
Although it did not meet the criteria for an active shooter scenario, the devastating incident led to the discovery of a deceased man within the mall premises, causing a tragic outcome.
Additionally, three individuals were rushed to a nearby hospital, with two men sustaining severe injuries from gunshot wounds and one woman treated for minor injuries unrelated to gunfire.
