California Police Identify 14-Year-Old as Suspect in Parental Murders

A harrowing incident has shaken the tranquility of Miramonte, California, as a 14-year-old boy stands accused of the shocking murder of his parents.

Identified as Lue Yang and Se Vang, both 37 and the attempted murder of his 11-year-old sister in their family home on Dec. 27. 

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office detailed the distressing events that led to the arrest of the teenage suspect.

Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni confirmed the arrest, withholding the minor’s identity due to legal reasons. The teen faces charges of two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder in connection to the tragic attack.

Following a distress call to 911 reporting an intruder’s assault on his family, deputies arrived at the residence to a heart-wrenching scene. They found the lifeless bodies of the parents and the critically injured 11-year-old girl, who was in such a grave condition that the weather prevented an immediate medevac to the hospital.

Authorities concluded that the adolescent had made up the allegation of an intruder after the California inquiry found discrepancies in the teen’s first report. 

Ongoing Efforts of California Law Enforcement

Sheriff Zanoni disclosed that the teen purportedly employed “multiple weapons” during the assault on his family members.

Amidst this devastating situation, the 7-year-old brother of the suspect, who was present at home during the incident, remained unharmed and is currently in the care of other family members.

Sheriff Zanoni expressed the enormity of the tragedy during a press conference, urging parents to be vigilant about their children’s mental well-being and to maintain open communication.

Authorities are questioning suspects and delving into detail about their behavior at school as part of the continuing investigation in California. At this point, the family’s reported attacks are unknown, and there is no record of police involvement at their home.
