California Woman Charged with Murder Following Alleged Intentional Car Collision

Dene Blakely, a 39-year-old from Richmond, California, faces murder charges following an alleged assault that led to the death of a 60-year-old woman in the San Francisco Bay Area.

As per San Pablo Police Department reports, law enforcement reacted to a concerning situation involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at approximately 2:30 pm on December 8. Upon reaching the scene, officials found that the victim had been intentionally hit by a vehicle operated by Blakely, seemingly in an act of reprisal.

According to California investigators, Blakely was challenged by the victim, who accused her of stealing a package from her home, which led to the tragic altercation. Blakely is accused of deliberately crashing her car into the victim as a reaction to the altercation.

The 60-year-old victim sustained severe injuries and was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. Despite undergoing surgery, she remained in critical condition until her tragic passing on December 23, as confirmed by police reports.

Blakely was initially charged with attempted murder and assault on December 12 with a deadly weapon. But now that the victim has passed away, Blakely is facing more charges of murder.

Presently held in custody at the West County Detention Facility located in Richmond, Blakely has had bail established at $1 million.
