Health Alert: Ground Beef Recall Affects Four Midwest States Due to E. Coli Risk

A recall has been initiated for over 6,000 pounds of raw ground beef products distributed in the Midwest due to potential contamination with E. coli.

Illinois-based Valley Meats, LLC, is recalling 6,768 pounds of raw ground beef products following a confirmation of E. coli presence in samples through a third-party test.

The initial distribution of the ground beef encompassed locations in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan, primarily intended for further sale.

The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has indicated that the large-packaged beef, mainly distributed to restaurants and institutions, is subject to the recall, with no direct sales to consumers.
