Surveillance footage and license plate recognition cameras traced Kangethe’s movements, linking his Toyota SUV to the location of Mbitu’s phone and ultimately to the parking garage where her lifeless body was found.

Despite his attempt to flee the country, Kangethe was apprehended in Nairobi and now awaits extradition to face trial in Boston. The motive behind Mbitu’s tragic demise remains shrouded in mystery, leaving investigators and loved ones grappling for answers.

Described as the youngest in a family dedicated to healthcare, Mbitu pursued a nursing degree from Curry College after immigrating to the United States from Kenya in 2007. Her promising future and compassionate spirit were abruptly cut short, leaving a void in the hearts of those who knew her.

As the legal proceedings unfold, the spotlight remains on seeking justice for Mbitu and holding Kangethe accountable for his alleged actions.

While the arrest offers a glimmer of hope for closure, the scars of this senseless tragedy will undoubtedly linger for Mbitu’s family and the community she touched with her kindness and dedication to healthcare. The road to healing may be long, but with each step towards justice, Mbitu’s memory will be honored, and her legacy will endure.
