The distribution of SNAP payments in Iowa follows a specific schedule, with payments being made from the 1st through the 10th of each month. The timing of receipt is determined by the first letter of the household’s last name.
By Tuesday, households with last names starting with letters A through O should have already received their food stamp payments. For those with last names starting with P through Z, the collection of SNAP benefits will take place over the next four days.
Maximum SNAP Benefits
Specifically, households with last names beginning with P, Q, and R will receive payments on Feb. 7. On Feb. 8, it will be the turn for households with last names starting with the letter S.
Subsequently, households with last names beginning with T, U, and V will receive payments on Feb. 9.
Finally, households with last names starting with W, X, Y, or Z will collect their payments on Feb. 10. It’s important to note the maximum payment amounts under SNAP. For a household of one, the maximum payment is $291.
This amount increases to $1,155 for a household of five and further to $1,751 for a household of eight. Additionally, for each household member beyond eight, an additional $219 is included in the payment.
