Texas Mother’s Savage Acts: Knife Attacks and Oven Attempt on Children

A Texas woman’s arrest during a SWAT standoff reveals a disturbing tale of alleged child abuse, exposing a troubling cycle of violence and neglect at home.

Lul Top, 36, was apprehended on Monday morning after barricading herself in the attic of her residence on Tanglewood Drive, evading law enforcement’s attempts to serve a warrant. The arrest came after a two-hour standoff, during which Top’s neighbors captured footage showing her subdued with her hands behind her back.

The arrest was not an isolated incident but rather the culmination of a series of troubling events. Court documents reveal that on January 8, Texas police responded to a call reporting Top’s assault on her husband, witnessed by their six children. This incident prompted Child Protective Services to remove the children from the home.

Further interviews conducted by the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County painted a chilling picture of the environment within the household. 

The children recounted horrifying experiences, alleging that Top subjected them to physical abuse, including attempts to place a child inside a hot oven and threats to mutilate them with a cleaver knife.

Texas Case Urges Community Vigilance

Moreover, the children described a climate of fear and alcohol abuse, with Top allegedly consuming large quantities of alcohol and coercing the children to procure more for her. Some children even reported instances of being forced to consume alcohol under threat of violence.

Neighbor accounts corroborate the disturbing nature of the household, with reports of frequent police visits and concerning behavior observed by residents. William Whitney, a neighbor, expressed his dismay, recounting encounters with the family and noting the lack of supervision for the children.

In light of these revelations, Top faces serious charges, including six counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She remains in custody at the Collin County Jail, with a bond set at $600,000.
