In a tragic incident aboard a Lufthansa flight from Bangkok to Munich, a 63-year-old man lost his life this week, leaving passengers in shock and terror.

The anonymous guy and his spouse reportedly showed signs of distress as soon as they stepped onto the aircraft, according to sources from the Swiss-German publication Blick.

Witnesses, Martin and Karin Missfelder, who were seated behind the couple, described the man as appearing unwell, experiencing cold sweats and rapid breathing. Despite concerns raised by his wife and fellow passengers, the crew initially allowed him to remain on the flight.

Karin Missfelder, a nursing specialist, expressed persistent worries about the man’s health and urged a flight attendant to seek medical assistance.

The plane’s captain intervened, calling for a doctor over the loudspeaker. A young doctor, reportedly around 30 years old and with limited English proficiency, examined the passenger briefly.

In a tragic incident aboard a Lufthansa flight from Bangkok to Munich, a 63-year-old man lost his life this week, leaving passengers in shock and terror.

Martin Missfelder claimed that the doctor did little more than check the man’s pulse and inquire about his well being. As things got worse, the man allegedly spat blood into a bag his wife had given him, and blood started to pour out of his mouth and nose and spray against the walls of the airplane.

Passengers, horrified by the unfolding tragedy, screamed in distress. Flight attendants intervened immediately, attempting to resuscitate the man. Despite their efforts, the man lost liters of blood.

The flight, which was recorded and tracked on flightradar24, took off from Bangkok International Airport initially but later diverted back to the airport due to the unfolding chaos and emergency situation onboard.

The man, now deceased, was carried into the galley as the plane returned to the airport. Lufthansa representatives confirmed the tragic incident to Blick, while representatives for Lufthansa did not immediately respond to Business Insider’s request for comment.

This somber event follows a turbulent year for Lufthansa, marked by incidents like severe turbulence on a Texas to Germany flight, where passengers and belongings were thrown into the air, necessitating an emergency landing near Washington, DC.
