LSU’s Angel Reese and Aneesah Morrow have made headlines in women’s college basketball, earning prestigious All-America honors.

Reese’s impact goes beyond just double-doubles. She is the first player since Wendy Scholtens of Vanderbilt in 1989 and 1990 to lead the SEC in scoring and rebounding in consecutive seasons.

Averaging 19.0 points and 13.1 rebounds per game this season, Reese ranks second in the nation in rebounding and leads with 5.6 offensive rebounds per game.

Her versatility is evident in the seven 20/20 games she has recorded in two seasons at LSU, including a standout performance of 25 points and 20 rebounds against Auburn this season, with six of those games featuring at least 25 points and 20 rebounds.

Despite battling a right ankle injury during the SEC Tournament, Reese showcased her resilience and determination.

After rolling her ankle in the fourth quarter against Auburn, Reese was uncertain for the following game against Ole Miss.

However, she played through the pain, scoring 21 points and grabbing 17 rebounds. In the SEC Tournament Championship, she continued her dominant performance with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

LSU’s Rising Stars

Throughout the tournament, Reese averaged 19.7 points and 13.7 rebounds, earning a well-deserved spot on the All-Tournament team.

Meanwhile, Morrow, in her first year at LSU, has been a revelation. Transitioning to the SEC, Morrow has seamlessly adapted, averaging 16.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Additionally, she leads LSU with 87 steals (the sixth-most in an LSU season) and 41 blocks. Despite being an undersized post, Morrow’s skill set allows her to excel at all levels, with her quick release on turnaround jumpers proving effective against taller defenders.

Her shooting prowess is evident, ranking No. 10 in the SEC with a shooting percentage of 46.2%.

Together, Reese and Morrow have been a dynamic duo for LSU, propelling the Tigers to new heights in women’s college basketball.

Their remarkable performances have not only earned them individual accolades but have also contributed significantly to LSU’s impressive season.
