In addition to the penalty, the league notified the 49ers that they would be required to forfeit their fifth-round pick in the 2025 Draft.

The NFL acknowledged that, following a thorough examination of reports submitted by all 32 teams, it identified accounting discrepancies in San Francisco’s payroll records at the conclusion of the league’s operational year in 2022, resulting in the failure to report accrued player compensation.

49ers Accept NFL Discipline Without Appeal

In a statement, the California-based team expressed accountability and acknowledged the NFL’s disciplinary action resulting from an administrative payroll oversight.
