A story of perseverance for the well fancied Iowa squad was told in this exciting game between Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes against Holy Cross, the No. 16 seed.

As the underdog going into the match, Holy Cross had overcome UT-Martin in a play-in game to earn a spot in the tournament. Holy Cross showed tenacity and physicality early on, forcing mistakes and controlling the game to stay close despite the odds being stacked against them.

Clark led the Iowa offense while retaining her composure in the face of defensive pressure and early mistakes.

Third-quarter rhythm-setting by senior guard Kate Martin and junior big Addison O’Grady—who both made major contributions to the team’s comeback—marked the Hawkeyes’ pivotal moment.
