Stanford’s Brink Shares Powerful Message After Stanford Sweet 16 Exit

Women’s March Madness Tournament athlete Cameron Brink of Stanford took some time to think back on her time as a college basketball player after a fierce match against NC State. 

The final-year collegiate player, Brink, was all smiles and thankful for the experience even though she lost.

Playing her final collegiate game in her hometown, Brink said, “It’s amazing,” during the postgame news conference. 

My preferred method of losing would be in front of my loved ones and friends. Brink was deeply grateful and lucky to have had the chance to play in front of her loved ones for her final college game.

With only 23 minutes of play, Brink showed off her incredible talent throughout the game, scoring 13 points, pulling down nine rebounds, and blocking seven shots. Still, NC State prevailed thanks to a strong third quarter, despite her outstanding performance.

Brink also shared in her reflection how much she values her teammates and Tara VanDerveer, the basketball coach at Stanford. 

Four years had gone by so rapidly, Brink said, expressing shock at how much time had passed. She acknowledged VanDerveer’s superiority for a cause and lauded her leadership skills.

A Look Ahead to a Thriving Basketball Career

Along with her appreciation for her teammates, she highlighted the lifelong bonds she had made with them and called them some of the greatest players in the nation.

As she looked to the future, Brink was enthusiastic about continuing to play basketball and reaffirmed her goal to do so. 

Averaging 14 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.1 blocks per game during his stellar collegiate career, Brink is ready to contribute significantly in the professional ranks. 

Brink’s versatile skill set and disruptive defensive capabilities assure her of a prosperous career as she enters the next phase of her career.
