Alex Verdugo’s Breakthrough: Yankees’ Left Fielder Powers Team to Extra-Inning Victory

The new left fielder, Alex Verdugo, blasted a huge home run off D-backs closer Kevin Ginkel in the 10th inning to deal a crushing blow.

Acquired from the Boston Red Sox in a rare trade between bitter rivals, the Yankees had high hopes for Verdugo’s left-handed bat and defensive prowess.
