Rapper Ice Spice to Make Acting Debut in Spike Lee’s ‘High and Low’

Renowned American rapper Ice Spice is well-known for consistently releasing singles that reach the top of several music charts. After making a name for herself in the music business, the rapper plans to dabble in acting. A new story claims that Ice Spice would star with Denzel Washington in a Spike Lee film in her acting debut.

Ice Spice to Make Acting Debut:

Ice Spice is heading to Hollywood with her skills. Variety reports that the 24-year-old rapper will star in Spike Lee’s High and Low in her feature film debut.
Thanks to an agreement between Apple Original Films and A24, Denzel Washington plays in the English version of Akira Kurosawa’s 1963 original film.
The film will premiere in cinemas later this year and then be available to stream on Apple TV+. Hollywood icons Lee and Washington are collaborating for the seventh time, their first reunion since Inside Man (2006).
Although filming has already started, it’s not entirely obvious what part Ice Spice, real name Isis Gaston, will be playing. In addition to receiving credit as an executive producer and co-writer for the script, Lee also joins Todd Black as a producer. Billboard has spoken with Ice Spice’s representatives for clarification.
Ice Spice participated in a Starry Super Bowl advertisement at the beginning of 2024, but she wants to advance her acting career.

With the release of her Y2K album in the upcoming months, the “Munch” rapper is expected to have another stellar year. Ice Spice says she finished recording her debut album in March, yet the highly anticipated album’s release date is still uncertain.
She said, “I finished recording y2k the album <.^,” on her Instagram and X accounts one month ago. The album’s title was inspired by her birthday, which fell on January 1, 2000.
Ice Spice said to Billboard, “I think this is some of my best work,” teasing that “it’s not going to be too long— it’s going to be sweet and to the point.”
With four top 10 entries on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023 alone, Ice is trying to maintain her momentum and aims to add more with her debut album.
