Robbi Mecus Cause of Death – One climber tragically lost her life, and another was seriously injured in a 1,000-foot fall from Mount Johnson in Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. Robbi Mecus, aged 52 from Keene Valley, New York, lost her life in the fall on Thursday, April 25.

Her climbing partner, a 30-year-old woman from California, sustained severe injuries. The injured climber was airlifted to Talkeetna and then to an Anchorage hospital for treatment by two mountaineering rangers and a high-altitude helicopter on April 26.

Due to adverse weather conditions, the rescuers were unable to return on Friday but successfully retrieved Mecus’ body from the mountain on Saturday, April 27. Mecus, a dedicated forest ranger and climbing enthusiast from New York, had a passion for the outdoors.
