IDF Confirms Senior Gazan Doctor Died: Know More Here
Two Palestinian prisoner associations reported on Thursday that a Gazan doctor had passed away in an Israeli jail after being detained for more than four months, and they blamed Israel for the doctor’s death.
In a joint statement, the associations alleged that Adnan Al-Bursh, the orthopaedics chief at Gaza’s Shifa Hospital, was temporarily employed by Israeli forces at Al-Awda Hospital in north Gaza when he was arrested.
They said his body was still in Israeli hands and referred to his death as an “assassination.”
According to an Israel Defense Forces spokesman, Bursh was held in Ofer prison for national security concerns, and on April 19 the prison service proclaimed him deceased. As of right now, the IDF has not provided any additional details.
In a statement, the health ministry of the Palestinian Authority stated that Bursh’s passing brought the total number of medical professionals murdered by Israel since Hamas invaded Israel on October 7 to 496. Moreover, 309 people had been taken into custody and 1,500 more people had been injured.
Israel believes that Hamas exploits hospitals for military objectives and that the existence of terrorists justifies its actions against them.
In an effort to apprehend terrorists who were utilizing the Shifa hospital as a base of operations and headquarters, the IDF conducted two distinct raids on the facility. The hospital also housed hostages.
Following the initial IDF pullout, thousands of terrorists gathered at the hospital, prompting the force to conduct a second operation there in March.
