How did Carter Rhoad and Jake and Callum Robinson Die? What happened?
The bodies discovered in a well near where the trio disappeared have been formally identified by their families. According to authorities, criminals who wanted their truck’s tires shot and killed two Australian brothers and a US tourist who went missing in Mexico.
What Happened?
The three bodies have been recognized by the relatives of Jake and Callum Robinson, as well as Jack Carter Rhoad. The trio went missing a week ago while on a surfing trip near the northern city of Ensenada, close to the US border, and had shared photographs of secluded beaches on social media.
What do the Investigation Say?
According to prosecutor María Elena Andrade Ramírez, thieves may have targeted the men’s truck and tents for their tires, but they likely fought. She stated that the bodies were transported to “a site that is extremely difficult to reach” in Baja California state. The well, near where their truck and tent were discovered on Thursday, also housed a fourth body that had been there for much longer.
It took two hours to hoist the bodies out, according to Ms Andrade Ramírez. She believes the same criminals may have dumped the fourth body there. Three men are being investigated for the killings. After the dead were discovered, surfers gathered in Ensenada, the nearest city, to protest what they claim is a lack of safety in the state. “They only wanted to surf – we demand safe beaches,” said a banner held by one woman. Some later participated in a ‘paddle-out’ ritual to honor the three men, forming a circle with their boards in the sea and throwing flowers. Jake and Callum’s mother stated in a Facebook message last week that she had not spoken with them since April 27th.
On May 1, the post stated that they were supposed to check into an Airbnb in the beach town of Rosarito but “did not show up”. According to Australian media, Callum had been living in the United States to pursue a lacrosse career, and his brother had only gone out to see him two weeks ago.
