How Did David Knezevich Get Arrested?

The FBI announced on Monday that Ana Maria Knezevich Henao’s spouse had been taken into custody in Florida. Ana Maria was reported missing in February while visiting Spain.

According to FBI spokesperson James Marshall, David Knezevich, 36, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is being held in federal custody for his suspected role in his wife’s kidnapping on or around February 2, 2024.

According to Marshall, the FBI, and the Diplomatic Security Service, we apprehended him on Saturday at Miami International Airport without any problems. According to court documents, Knezevich has not yet made his initial appearance in Miami Federal Court.

The US Customs and Border Protection, the Diplomatic Security Service, and the Spanish National Police are still looking into this.

After missing her appointment with a friend in Madrid in February, Knezevich Henao, forty, was declared missing.

Juan Felipe Henao, her brother, told Channel that his sister never arrived at the Madrid station on February 5, the day she was scheduled to travel to Barcelona by train with a companion.

Sanna Rameau, a friend of Knezevich Henao, said they last spoke on February 2.

Rameau told Channel that she was both thrilled and upset by the arrest. “Hopefully, we will receive some answers,” she expressed.

Rameau claimed to have received a WhatsApp message from Knezevich Henao around the time she vanished, saying, “I met someone wonderful!!” About two hours (hours) separate his vacation home from Madrid. I’ll spend a few days there; we’re heading there now. There is a sporadic signal. I’ll give you a call when I return.

The man had approached her as she was out on the street the day before, according to the text message that Channel could view—incredible bond. As never before, as I have,” the text concluded.

The supervisor of the apartment building where Knezevich Henao was residing in Madrid’s affluent Salamanca area told Channel that around the time she vanished, someone had spray-painted the lenses of two surveillance cameras.

The superintendent said the disabled cameras were near the elevator and the building’s entrance. It’s unknown if the event has anything to do with her becoming missing.

Channel was informed by the building supervisor and two other individuals with relevant information that police had legally entered Knezevich Henao’s flat on February 12.

In the days following her abduction, her brother and Rameau informed Channel that they had spoken with Knezevich separately and that he had told them he was in Serbia. In February, Channel tried to contact Knezevich but received no response.

According to two individuals who knew the matter, Knezevich Henao first rented the Madrid property from January 5 to February 5. She then requested to extend the reservation through March 5 for an additional month.

When the Channel contacted the Spanish police, they said they were still investigating and would not comment.

Their website identifies David Knezevich as the managing director and CEO of EOX Technology Solutions, a South Florida-based computer services provider. It states that David Knezevich is a Serbian and that Knezevich Henao is a project manager who is originally from Colombia. Channel tried contacting the firm, but no one answered right away.

When contacted about the matter by Channel in February, the US Embassy in Madrid cited privacy rules and declined to respond.
