What happened at Ohio State Graduation?

According to university officials, someone died after falling from the stands at Ohio State University’s graduation ceremony on Sunday. According to the Columbus Dispatch, the fall occurred at lunchtime, near where the last graduates were streaming into Ohio Stadium. Police have cordoned off the area. It wasn’t apparent whether the fall was accidental or purposeful or if it involved a kid or someone else.

In an emailed statement, university spokesman Benjamin Johnson stated that the university was aware of the fatality but had no other information to provide about what occurred. Some kids and attendees at the ceremony were unhappy. The ceremony continued, and the speakers made no mention of what happened.

“For anyone affected by today’s incident, we will make counseling and other support resources available,” a representative told CBS station WBNS. According to the institution, the station stated that 12,555 students got their diplomas or certificates in person. The institution has recently dealt with Gaza war protests, which have affected campuses countrywide. Over three dozen Ohio State students and activists risk misdemeanor charges following the university’s Thursday night crackdown on rallies over Israeli investments.
