Jalen Brunson injury update: Knicks star says he’s ‘all good’ after scare in Game 2 win over Pacers
Jalen Brunson exited Game 2 of the second-round series between the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers with about four minutes remaining in the first quarter due to a sore right foot, as reported by the Knicks.
Initially listed as questionable to return, Brunson decided to give it a try after halftime and was back on the court for the Knicks at the beginning of the third quarter. His comeback proved crucial for the Knicks, as his impressive 29-point performance led them to victory in Game 2.
Luckily for the Knicks, Brunson confirmed he was “all good” after the game regarding his injury. He played the entire second half without any breaks, supporting his statement. Unless any unforeseen issues arise before Friday, he is expected to be ready to play in Game 3.
The exact moment when Brunson sustained the injury remains unclear. During the first quarter, it seemed like he either experienced knee-to-knee contact or a hit in the groin.
Towards the end of the first quarter, Brunson, displaying discomfort, seemed to signal for a substitution as Josh Hart committed a take foul during a transition play. Brunson is not only a key player for New York but has also been one of the standout performers in the postseason.
He led the postseason in scoring with 256 total points before Wednesday’s game, despite playing fewer games than some other players. Additionally, Brunson achieved a historic feat by scoring 40 or more points in four consecutive playoff games.
