Missing 3-year-old boy in Jefferson County Found Safe after his Mother’s Death
An Amber Alert for a missing 3-year-old from Forestdale was canceled after he was discovered safe on Monday morning.
Willon Jace McClain, 3, was taken by his father, 49-year-old Willie Edward McClain, at 1:00 a.m. on Dewberry Lane in Forestdale and was believed to be in danger, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived in the area after receiving reports of a person being shot. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the child’s mother had walked to a neighboring fire station for assistance after being hit by Willie McClain. She was sent to UAB Hospital for treatment and is expected to live. Deputies later found Willon Jace McClain safe and arrested Willie Edward McClain.
