This Monday, authorities claimed they found another person’s body during the underwater investigation, which gave the search for a missing diver in southeast Florida an unexpected twist.

Search teams discovered someone else’s corpse on Monday after 39-year-old Virgil Price disappeared on Sunday, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office.

The individual that was retrieved from the water on Monday, around 16 miles northeast of the Fort Pierce Inlet, fits the description of another missing person complaint, the sheriff’s office stated on Wednesday.

About 60 miles north of West Palm Beach is the location where the agency’s Marine Unit helped the U.S. Coast Guard recover the unidentified body.

Description of the Body

The victim, a white male who weighs 200 to 225 pounds and looks to be older than 50, was being identified by officials.

“His clothing and physical characteristics do not match those of the missing diver from Sunday,” the agency posted on Facebook.

The victim was discovered on Monday, and the cause and approximate time of death are being ascertained by the U.S. Coast Guard, who is spearheading the inquiry alongside the medical examiner.

The sheriff’s office claims that the body does not appear to have been in the water for a long time.
