Darren Dutchyshen passed away at the age of 57. Tributes are pouring in for him, and it’s clear that he made a lasting impact on the sports broadcasting community.

Although the cause of his death hasn’t been disclosed, it’s comforting to know that he was surrounded by his loved ones in his final hours. It’s evident from his family’s statement that he maintained his sharp wit until the end, always ready with a joke, even if it was a bit inappropriate.

Darren Dutchyshen bravely shared his battle with prostate cancer back in 2021 and took a year away from TSN to receive treatment. He returned to the screen in 2022 alongside his co-host Jennifer Hedger, sharing his timeline and journey with viewers. Despite the challenges he faced, he remained positive and felt really good while doing what he loved on Sportscentre.

Dutchyshen’s contributions to TSN over the past three decades have made him a giant in the industry. His presence on SportsDesk and SportsCentre will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace, and may his family find solace in the memories and love they shared with him.
