Authorities continue to look for a woman who vanished in Lake Greenwood on May 26.

The Laurens County coroner reports that on Saturday, May 26, at approximately 2:00 p.m., a call was placed concerning a missing swimmer. According to officials, there were four swimmers.

According to the coroner, three were confirmed to be safe while one is still missing. Sergeant Porsha Griffin, 30, has been confirmed as the missing woman.

Griffin, according to officials, fell into the water while tubing behind a boat without a life jacket on and hasn’t emerged since.

According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR), detectives, divers, and boats have been among the roughly 17 people searching for Griffin.

To find Griffin, DNR officials claimed they had been using side scans, sonar, and witness testimony.

Before learning what had happened, a neighbour who heard the screams on Saturday said, “We’ve all been praying for the family.” We simply have the deepest sympathy for them and their daughter.
