Four prisoners broke out of the jail on Sunday night, and deputies in Louisiana are looking for them, according to officials.

During leisure time in the jail yard, four prisoners broke out of the Tangipahoa Parish Jail via the perimeter fence, according to Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards.

Omarion Hookfin, 19, Avery Guidry, 19, Jamarcus Cyprian, 20, and Travon Johnson, 21, have been identified as the individuals in question.

According to the sheriff’s office, a perimeter fence assessment revealed that a portion of it was weak and could be readily breached by a body.

In connection with a 2022 murder in Hammond, Louisiana, Johnson, Hookfin, and Guidry were incarcerated; Cyprian was detained for armed robbery and weapon-related offences.

While Hoofkin was detained in the Catahoula Parish, he was additionally charged with aggravated violence.
