Bragg touts DA office ‘did our job’ after Trump verdict: ‘The jury has spoken’

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg celebrated a successful outcome after former President Trump was found guilty on 34 counts, emphasizing that his office had fulfilled its duties.

“I have done my job. Our responsibility is to adhere to the facts and the law impartially. That’s precisely what we accomplished here. I am grateful to work alongside exceptional public servants who demonstrate this commitment daily in matters covered by the media. I have done my job. We have done our job. Amidst various opinions, the most significant one is that of the jury. And the jury has spoken,” stated Bragg on Thursday evening.

Bragg officially charged Trump with 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Following the jury’s deliberation, which concluded late Thursday afternoon, Trump was found guilty on all counts.

“The 12 ordinary jurors pledged to base their decision solely on the evidence and the law. Their discussions led them to a unanimous decision, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the defendant, Donald J. Trump, is guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree to conceal a scheme to manipulate the 2016 election,” Bragg elaborated during the press briefing, underscoring that such white-collar crimes are fundamental to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s mission.

Subsequent to the jury’s verdict, Trump addressed the media, reiterating his commitment to defending the Constitution and the nation in preparation for the 2024 election.

“This trial was unfair and shameful. The true verdict will be delivered by the people on Nov. 5,” Trump stated outside the courthouse on Thursday. “This trial was flawed from the start. With a biased judge who should not have presided over this case. Never. We will persist in upholding our Constitution. This is far from over.”

The conclusion of the trial in a Manhattan court, spanning six weeks, culminated in this significant verdict.
