A Jet Crashes Into A Colorado Mobile Home Park, Killing Two People And Igniting Two Trailers

Two individuals were killed and two trailers were set on fire when a plane crashed into a mobile home park in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, on Monday afternoon, according to the authorities. The aircraft went down in West Acres Trailer Park, according to Steamboat Springs Fire Rescue. The pilot and a passenger were the two people that died, according to Steamboat Springs police. The collision fatalities were named on Tuesday by Routt County Coroner Mitch Locked as Dan Dunn, 67, and Jessica Pauline Melton, 42, both of the Colorado Front Range.

Firefighters Putting Out The Fire

Ten firefighters plus individuals not on duty, according to the city, put out the fires at two residences and multiple outbuildings while also securing the area for the downed aircraft. “The jet crash has been reported to all first reacting agencies. The Routt County Sheriff’s Office asked people not to overburden their 911 dispatchers in a Facebook post.

“First responders are already on the site and assembling the necessary equipment. As soon as we obtain additional information, we will notify the public.” About 4:30 p.m., as the twin-engine Cessna 421 approached Steamboat Springs Airport/Bob Adams Field, it crashed into the mobile home park, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which spoke with Fox News Digital.

The aircraft was reportedly on its way from Longmont, Colorado to Ogden, Utah, according to the City of Steamboat Springs.While first responders attempted to put out the fire, authorities issued a warning to others to stay away from the area. Following the collision, Steamboat Springs police set up a hotline line for locals and family members to use.

According to the authorities, every single inhabitant of the mobile park has been verified. The residents of West Acres Mobile Park affected by the plane crash can now use the Community Room at the Combined Law Enforcement Facility, according to authorities. Assistance is also available from Routt County Crisis Support and the Red Cross.
