Delphi murders case’s defense attorneys want to call judge to testify

490

The defense attorneys for the suspect in the Delphi murders are aiming to have the special judge in the case testify at future hearings, as per their recent actions.

Richard Allen, who was arrested for the murders of Abby Williams and Libby German, has his defense seeking clarification on a contradiction between the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Judge Fran Gull of Allen County. This contradiction revolves around an inmate, Robert Baston, who was supposed to attend a hearing in June 2023 regarding Allen’s treatment in state prison.

The defense attorneys are responding to this contradiction by planning to issue subpoenas and have Judge Gull testify at upcoming hearings and during the trial.

They intend to clarify that the judge never instructed the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to disregard a valid subpoena or to leave Baston behind if he chose not to attend the June 2023 hearing.
