Leader Of Hezbollah Threatens Cyprus And Warns Israel Of War With “No Red Lines”

Israel is “conducting maneuvers in preparation for the Lebanon war” in Cyprus, according to intelligence that the Lebanese terrorist group, Hezbollah, Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah disclosed. Nikos Christodoulides, the president of Cyprus, emphasized on Wednesday that his nation is not a party to the conflict but rather a component of the solution.

Hezbollah’s leader has threatened to battle “no rules and with no red lines” if a full-scale conflict breaks out between Israel and the Lebanese terrorist group, cautioning Cyprus not to get entangled in the fighting.

Since the beginning of the Jewish state’s war in the Gaza Strip against the militant Palestinian group Hamas, which is sponsored by Iran like Hezbollah, Lebanon and Israel have routinely exchanged gunfire across international borders. Since an Israeli airstrike last week killed Taleb Sami Abdullah, a senior Hezbollah commander, and three other organization members, the intensity of fire exchanges has increased.

No Place For Missile And Drones

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah made the following remarks during a televised speech at the official’s memorial service on Wednesday: “Israel knows very well that no place will be safe from our missiles and drones” in the event of a conflict between the neighboring states, as reported by the Hezbollah-aligned al-Manar TV news outlet.

He went on to say that Hezbollah had now “obtained new weapons,” although he did not elaborate. Based on the Iranian Ababil drones, the group frequently utilizes rockets, anti-tank missiles, and Burkan heavy warhead rockets, according to Seth Frantzman, adjunct fellow at the U.S.-based Foundation for Defense of Democracies think tank.

From what Google translate says, Nasrallah said, “I say that the Cypriot government must be careful because opening airports for the enemy to attack Lebanon means that Cyprus is part of the war and we will deal with it as part of the war,” according to al-Manar. Cyprus has refuted the allegations, yet as late as May 2023, it increased defense relations and took part in joint military drills with Israel.

Additionally, Israel Katz, the foreign minister of Israel, issued a warning, saying that his nation is now “very close to the moment of decision to change the rules against Hezbollah and Lebanon.” The top White House envoy, Amos Hochstein, met with leaders in Israel and Lebanon earlier this week, but the U.S. efforts to defuse the situation and gain support for its peace framework for the Gaza enclave have failed thus far.
