A Three-Car Catastrophic Crash On I-270 In Montgomery County Left Two Teenagers Dead

Following a horrific, three-car collision that claimed the lives of two teenagers on Friday morning in Montgomery County, Maryland, police are currently looking for the driver of a BMW that they claim fled the scene.

According to a news release from Maryland State Police, the two teenagers have been identified as 17-year-old Luis Isaac Bran of Gaithersburg, Maryland, and 18-year-old Rebeca Gabriela Vasquez Moreno of El Salvador. According to state police, Bran’s mother was operating a Toyota RAV4 while the two teenagers, who are thought to be relatives, were passengers.

Killed At Site

The 2003 silver BMW convertible driver struck the Toyota from behind when it was going north on I-270 on Friday just before five in the morning. The vehicle fled the scene. The collision occurred on I-270 and Falls Road near Exit 6A. The Ford F-150 that was still there then rear-ended the Toyota a second time.

State police said that the BMW was later discovered abandoned on the shoulder approximately 0.5 miles north of the scene of the collision. Right now, detectives are trying to figure out who the driver is. The Toyota was completely destroyed by fire when rescue personnel arrived on the scene. The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service reports that the two teenagers were killed at the site while still trapped inside the car.
