Rhea Perlman revealed that she and Danny DeVito are still married and have a “pretty decent understanding and relationship with each other” despite their 2012 breakup. The “Cheers” alumna revealed, in an interview with fellow actor Julia Louis-Dreyfus for Lemonada Media’s “Wiser Than Me” podcast on May 30, that she and the “Taxi” actor are still officially husband and wife.

“We are still very good friends and we see each other a lot,” Perlman stated. “And our family is still the most important thing to both of us, I believe.” The four-time Emmy winner admitted that while they are now in a good place, the breakup was difficult for her initially.

She remarked, “I’m not gonna, like, sugarcoat it… it was very difficult at first,” adding that she wouldn’t go into “a lot of reasons” why they broke up. “It took time for us to come to this, somehow, pretty decent understanding and relationship with each other.” Although Perlman claims that her dog is “my partner in life now” and that she lives alone with him, she doesn’t particularly enjoy being alone.

Particularly Enjoy Being Alone

She clarified, “I don’t like living alone.” “I enjoy spending time by myself. I enjoy spending time with myself. “No,” Perlman replied when Louis-Dreyfus asked if she wanted her to set her up, “unless it’s someone really wonderful, rich and famous, gorgeous and a lot younger than me. Perlman claimed that since her first granddaughter was born a few weeks ago, she has been able to rediscover a “certain love” for her. These days, she is spending time with her grandchild. “When my own children were born, I experienced it.

I’ve never experienced this type of affection for anything before,” she reminisced. “It was a profound feeling.” After costarring in “Matilda” in 1996, Perlman and DeVito got married in 1982 and went on to have three kids together.
