On Monday, Miami police said that a 28-year-old male had been detained for allegedly throwing rocks at random cars. His arrest record states that shortly after 6:15 p.m., a police officer responded to a reported violent battery in the vicinity of Southwest 52nd Court and West Flagler Street.

Gadiel Luis Sabatela was allegedly stealing boulders from the ground and hurling them toward cars, according to the victim and a witness who spoke with the police.

When Sabatela hurled a rock through the driver’s side window, which was down, the victim stated he was driving north on 52nd Court. The victim was struck in the left side of his face, receiving a tiny cut on his cheek and left hand. As to the report, the victim’s vehicle collided with a wall due to the event.

After being taken into custody, Sabatela was sent to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility. He is accused of firing or hurling a lethal projectile.

Sabatela, whose nationality is listed as Cuban in the arrest record, was still being detained at TGK as of Tuesday afternoon, and his bond had not yet been determined.
