The Grand County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team is currently conducting a search for a couple who went missing since Friday.

Known as Ray and Maranda Ankofski on social media, the couple was last in contact 20 minutes past noon on June 21, just hours before a severe storm hit the area.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office, along with social media posts, reported that the couple’s truck was discovered at the Steel Bender trailhead, and their off-highway vehicle was found in a ravine. Following a report of the abandoned truck associated with an overdue party, deputies initiated an immediate search and rescue operation involving multiple agencies.

The search effort includes ground search teams, helicopters, dogs, and specialized equipment, as stated by the sheriff’s office.
