Matthew Atkinson, a former cast member of Young and the Restless, disclosed on Friday that he wed Brytnee Ratledge, his lifelong girlfriend, more than a month ago.
On November 8, Matthew and actress Brytnee tied the knot in a small-scale wedding at Lake Tahoe, California.
The actor told People on Friday that he is enjoying every second of his marriage. The 34-year-old, who plays Thomas Forrester on the venerable soap opera, shared a few moments from the momentous day.
‘We’d been to Tahoe before while camping up and down Highway 395,’ the star revealed about their wedding location, saying it was the first ‘we visited after a short search. It seemed like God told both of us it was the right place.’
After he filmed sequences in Rome for The Bold and the Beautiful, the actors announced their engagement during the summer.
The couple described their wedding as “a dream come true, spiritual, intimate, magical, and altogether lovely” at Tahoe Blue Estate.
During their outdoor ceremony rehearsal, the couple—who met while working out at their local gym—seemed to have confirmed that.
The engaged couple can be seen practising their vows in a video that was posted to social media, trembling as light snow falls.
During the walk-through, Britney wore a white wool coat over a white suit and shoes, while Matthew looked sharp in a black suit, white shirt, and white shoes.
‘Probably in prayer,’ the Everyone is Doing Great actor wrote next to the video on Instagram describing the scene.
‘This was during our wedding rehearsal, while it was snowing, something my wife asked for before we got there.’
When the sun came out on their wedding day, they were surrounded by gorgeous green pine trees and vibrant bushes in tones of gold and red, which also occurred to match the bridesmaids’ gown colours, so it looked like their prayers were also answered.
For the ceremony, the guys were dressed in tan suits.
As Matthew said “I do,” he was dressed in a dark blue suit, white shirt, and red tie.
Britney looked amazing in a plunging back satin halter fit and flair dress.
The actress from Frankie Meets Jack had her dark blonde hair in a half ponytail secured with a baby breath and garland clasp.
‘We didn’t want to see each other until she walked down the aisle,’ the Sisters of the Groom actor said.
Even yet, they had a connection even before the music started.
“We prayed for the ceremony during our first touch, and afterwards, we stepped aside for our first joint prayer, with all of our friends and family praying over us.”
Following the wedding, the newlyweds and their fifty guests had a barbecue buffet for dinner and afterwards savoured pieces of s’mores cake.
‘It was important to Brytnee and me for it to be a small, intimate gathering to celebrate our beloved union with all our closest friends and family,’ the Happily Ever After actor explained.
‘We had our dinner at a pub where we could play corn hole and other games,’ he added.
‘Fortunately, we were able to stay with some of our closest friends and the whole week was like a friends’ vacation trip.
