Over A Money Quarrel, A Miami-Dade Man is Accused of Assaulting and Kidnapping His Girlfriend

A guy from southwest Miami-Dade was taken into custody on Wednesday, according to the police, after he allegedly beat and abducted his girlfriend while forcing her to drive him to Boynton Beach over an unpaid debt.

Authorities stated that Yosmar Yzquierdo, 30, “forcefully” snatched the victim’s keys and ordered that she take him with her. The victim was scheduled to pick up money from a friend in Boynton Beach. Authorities stated that they departed from the Naranja section of the county, located in the 25000 block of Southwest 144th Court.

According to a Miami-Dade Police Department arrest report, Yzquierdo “struck the victim multiple times on the head with both closed and open fists” throughout the drive.

The victim got the money when they got to Boynton Beach, but Yzquierdo “forcefully took it from her,” according to the police report.

Then, according to investigators, he drove them back to his house and insisted on seeing her pocketbook. According to investigators, he stole the money inside after discovering it.

After driving the victim back to her house, according to the police, Yzquierdo took off to an unidentified destination.

MDPD’s Hammock units arrested Yzquierdo at around 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, and he was then taken to a local police station to be interrogated.

According to his arrest record, Yzquierdo acknowledged he had been at the scenes of the events but refuted the accusations after being informed of his Miranda rights.

He is charged with three charges of strong-arm robbery and one count each of kidnapping and violence, according to prison records.

Yzquierdo’s bond details are still pending at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where he was housed as of Thursday. The reason the victim reportedly owes Yzquierdo money was not disclosed by the police.
