Texas A&M University has appointed Michael Earley as its new baseball coach, replacing Jim Schlossnagle who left for the University of Texas.

Earley previously served as the Aggies’ hitting coach for three seasons, during which the team set records for home runs and walks. He was also credited with developing four All-America sluggers.

Athletic Director Trev Alberts praised Earley’s character, relationships with players, and familiarity with the current roster and Aggieland. Earley expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity, committing to not disappoint the university.

Earley’s coaching experience includes stints at Arizona State, and his playing career included being drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2010. He aims to lead the Aggies to Omaha, the site of the Men’s College World Series.
